Grades 2-5 played one-on-one soccer cone knockdown. One student is on offense. The other is on defense. The defender must get right up on the offensive player trying to steal the soccer ball. Meanwhile, the offensive player is trying to make a soccer move to get around the defender and kick their ball toward the cone. If they knock the cone over they receive a point. This is a nice drill because it allows for students to practice both offensive moves and defensive positioning.
Grades K-1 played a similar but modified game of cone knockdown. Students stand about 10-12 yards away from each other with a cone in the middle. They take turns trying to knock the cone over. The goal here is for students to practice how to kick a ball.
