Students were shown how to throw a football today. Key elements discussed when throwing a football were:
1) Standing perpendicular to the person you're throwing to, or, as we told the kids, standing sideways to begin throw. Thrower's chest shouldn't be facing the target. 2) Stepping with the opposite foot. If you throw with your right then step with your left, and vice-versa. Standing sideways helps with this because then you are forced to step with the front (opposite) foot. 3) Make an "L" with your arm by holding the ball up slightly above your ear. 4) Grip the ball with 2 fingers on the laces and the thumb on the opposite side. Most students who did not run for a time yesterday were able to do so today. Thanks.
