We finally went outside today! We began our soccer unit. All classes met in the MP room and after completing their daily exercises went outside. We began by running a modified lap. Grades 3-5 worked on controlling the soccer ball with their feet by completing various drills led by Mrs. Kiefer. Grades K-2 were shown what dribbling a soccer ball looks like and given time to practice it. Additional directions were given when the whistle blew telling the children what to do with the ball. For example, we may say "Stop the ball with your knee." We can then gauge each student and class in their ability to follow directions.
We will continue soccer tomorrow! Reminder: Field is real wet each morning. You may want to send in an old pair of sneakers to use in PE and a change of socks. Thanks!
