This week all students in Scott M. Ellis are part of circus week in PE. On Monday and Tuesday students were introduced, or reintroduced, to the basics of juggling. Students begin juggling scarves learning the toss-toss-catch-catch method. Students toss the scarf in their right hand, then toss the scarf in their left hand in an "x" pattern so each scarf lands in the opposite hand. Using scarves is a great way to learn the pattern because they fall to the ground slowly. Older students should be able to juggle three scarves, starting with two in the right hand and one in the left. If students can juggle these 5 to 7 times straight, they can then try juggling balls. This transition is very difficult.
Thanks!
