It's that time of year again! Our 20th annual Jump Rope for Heart event is here! Last year our students at Scott M. Ellis raised the most money of any Capital District school. The total sum was over $21,000!
We kickstarted the annual fun time by showing students a video in PE class about where the money goes. All money goes to the American Heart Association. The more money students raise, the more "thank you gifts" they receive. Students watched the video then Mrs. Kiefer explained how it all works. Students will be coming home today with a pink sheet attached to a signup sheet. If students would like to participate, they keep the pink info sheet and return the signup sheet NO LATER than January 18. When the students turn in their signup sheet they will be given an envelope. Money collected goes in the envelope. When they are done collecting, they return the envelope to any PE teacher or their homeroom teacher. Students can also receive online donations from friends and family who live far away. The event takes place January 17th. Students will spend a half day of school out of class to participate. For more information, please visit heart.org/jump ****Be advised, online donations got to Scott M. Ellis elementary. If you send donations to Greenville Elementary they will go to a different school.
