We continued today with our centers. Tomorrow we plan to take a one day break from the centers and continue them on Monday through Wednesday. After we complete centers we will begin our bowling unit.
Please discuss with your child that earrings are only allowed to be in and taped if they are new earring holes. This generally takes about 6 weeks for them to become permanent. If the earring holes are more than 6 weeks old the students are expected to remove the earrings for class. Some of the younger children aren't comfortable removing their earrings themselves. Similar to our shoe tying request, please review how to remove earrings if your child does not know how. Thanks.

We award the PE student of the month at the beginning of each month. Each PE teacher selects one student who demonstrates any or all of the following traits:
sportsmanship, effort, patience, improvement, an ability to follow directions, an ability to take instruction, leadership, kindness, respecting equipment, and other school based traits. When coaches present the award at the end of class, we tell the entire group why each kid was chosen. Ask your child who received the PE Student of the Month for November for their class and, more importantly, why they think that student was selected. The blog entry from yesterday listed our centers. We continued with those centers today. The entry from yesterday also mentioned asking your child about the number one safety rule when using the equipment at the centers. Answer? Hopefully they said not to rush through, race each other, or rush others. These centers are not about speed, they are about completing the task with correct form. Rushing through or racing will only increase the risk for injury.
